Jazz in town – At Gîte les Mélèzes, at la Place de Villar d’Arène

Jun - 08 2018 | By

The jazz workshop of the Conservatory of Briançonnais will open this concert, followed by the Passport Quartet and Claire Mira, in a warm atmosphere, typical of jazz clubs. We hope many of you will come listening to this tribute to Jazz standards!
The “Passport Jazz Quartet” offers an immersion in the heart of the years bop and hard bop.
During the 50s and 60s, jazz musicians work on standards, these melodies known to all constitute their common baggage.
They also venture on new paths, mixing styles and genres.
The repertoire of Passport Quartet allows to revisit some of these themes: the trumpet (with the accents of Clifford Brown and Lee Morgan) is based on a rhythmic bass-drums-solid and effective, consisting of two long-time accomplices. At their side, the piano is the link or creates the surprise… The four musicians have a lot of fun playing together… you will obviously feel the music…

Opening: Saturday 9 June 2018 at 8.30 PM.
